Pelvic floor awareness can feel difficult to access when this deep, internal part of the body feels unfamiliar or disconnected from everyday movement and sensation. Led by Yoga Instructor & Fitness Trainer Mel Gutierrez, this breath-infused pelvic floor practice uses conscious breathing, touch, visualization, and body-centered techniques to help you develop a clearer sense of the pelvic floor and its relationship to the pelvis, breath, and surrounding tissues. Through intentional sensing and embodied exploration, the practice offers a way to become more familiar with this essential area of the body. Discover more Pelvic Floor Wisdom here.

Breath & Pelvic Floor Awareness

Breath-infused pelvic floor work brings together conscious breathing, external touch, visualization, and sensory awareness to explore the movement and responsiveness of the pelvic floor. Using the imagery of a three-dimensional ball within the pelvis, this practice explores how the pelvic floor responds to inhalation and exhalation, changes in position, and the relationship between the sitting bones and surrounding tissues. The practice also incorporates external support through a soft ball, pillow, or folded blanket to further explore pelvic sensations and body awareness.

  • The relationship between the pelvic floor, sitting bones, pelvis, and surrounding tissues
