Move through grief, change, and life transitions with greater compassion and self-awareness in this guided somatic practice led by Mel Gutierrez. This practice offers grounding breathwork, body awareness, and emotional release to help you safely explore difficult emotions without judgment. You’ll learn how to notice where grief, anxiety, fear, and stress show up in the body, create space between thoughts and emotions, and use breath and physical movement to reconnect with your center. Whether you’re navigating the end of a relationship, a career transition, a move, changing friendships, or another significant life change, this practice provides tools for acknowledging what you feel, releasing tension, and approaching uncertainty with greater agency, compassion, and empowerment.
What Is Grief?
Grief is a natural emotional response to loss, change, and endings, and it can arise even when a transition is positive or something you have consciously chosen. In this practice, you’re invited to recognize grief without judging, suppressing, or compartmentalizing difficult emotions. Through breath, body awareness, movement, and compassionate internal dialogue, you can learn to notice how emotions are experienced physically and create a greater sense of safety and presence as you move through periods of change.
How Breathwork Can Support Emotional Release
Conscious breathing and intentional movement can help you slow down, reconnect with physical sensations, and create space to acknowledge what you’re experiencing. Throughout this practice, you’ll use grounding breaths, expressive exhales, gentle movement, shaking, self-soothing touch, and positive self-talk to work with feelings of fear, sadness, anxiety, disappointment, and grief. These techniques offer a compassionate way to return to your center, recognize your own strength, and move forward through transitions with greater awareness and empowerment.
