Standing Qigong for Strength, Balance & Inner Stillness

Discover the profound power of stillness through this guided Standing Qigong practice with Dr. Judith Ehrman Shapiro. In this grounding session, you’ll explore how seemingly simple postures can cultivate strength, vitality, balance, focus, and energetic awareness while calming the mind and nourishing the body. Through a blend of standing meditation, gentle movement, breath awareness, and Traditional Chinese Medicine principles, this practice invites you to experience the movement within stillness and the stillness within movement.

Embodiment Principles of Song, Chen, and Zhong

Beginning in the foundational Wu Ji stance, Judith guides you through a series of standing postures and gentle movement sequences, including Constant Bear, Tai Chi Swings, Zhan Zhuang, and Old Monk Offers the Alms. Throughout the practice, you’ll learn how to soften tension, improve alignment, strengthen your energetic foundation, and reconnect with the natural flow of Qi (life force energy).

Drawing upon the embodiment principles of Song (relaxed structure), Chen (rooting to rise), and Zhong (finding center), this practice helps cultivate a sense of grounded presence while supporting both physical and energetic wellbeing. Whether you are new to Qigong or seeking a deeper relationship with your existing practice, this session offers a powerful pathway into embodied healing.
