Awaken your body’s natural strength and resilience through this energizing Yi Jin Jing Qigong practice with Dr. Judith Ehrman-Shapiro. Also known as the Shaolin Sinew Changing Classic, Yi Jin Jing is one of the oldest and most respected forms of Qigong, traditionally practiced to strengthen the tendons, improve flexibility, cultivate vitality, and develop whole-body resilience.
In this Yang-style practice, Dr. Judith guides you through a series of dynamic movements designed to awaken Qi (life force energy), increase mobility, and strengthen the connective tissues that support healthy movement throughout the body. While particular attention is given to the hands, wrists, and forearms, the benefits extend through the shoulders, spine, hips, legs, and entire fascial network.
Beginning with foundational Wu Ji alignment and gentle Ji Ben Gong warm-ups, you’ll progress through traditional Yi Jin Jing movements including Holding the Ball, Wei Tuo Presents the Pestle, Plucking and Resetting the Stars, Pulling Nine Oxen by the Tail, Three Dishes Fall to the Ground, and Tiger Claws. Together, these classical forms develop strength without force, encouraging fluid movement, postural stability, and energetic balance while honoring your body’s natural range of motion.
Because this is a Yang practice, Dr. Judith explains that it is designed to build energy and vitality, making it an excellent practice for the morning or daytime when you wish to feel alert, grounded, and empowered.
