Do you sometimes feel energetically flat, creatively blocked, or disconnected from yourself? In this 11-minute movement practice, Grace Magnusson guides you through a rhythmic sequence to open and activate the seven chakras, restoring the natural energy flow from your hips to the crown of your head. This accessible, low-impact movement for chakra activation is for anyone who wants to release tension, boost vitality, and reconnect with themselves through simple, rhythmic movement, whether you’re new to energy balancing work or a seasoned practitioner.

What Are the Chakras and Why Do They Matter?

The word chakra, means “wheel” in Sanskrit. In Indian yogic tradition, chakras are thought to be spinning discs of energy that correspond to nerve bundles, major organs, and areas of the energetic body that affect our emotional and physical well-being. When energy flows freely through these centers, you feel aligned, vital, and creatively alive. When they’re blocked or sluggish, stagnation can show up as tension, low energy, emotional flatness, or a nagging sense of being stuck.

In this practice, Grace works the chakra line from the ground up. She starts with shaking the feet along with hip circles to awaken your root and sacral center, the seat of your creative energy. She then moves through the solar plexus, heart, throat, and crown. Each movement is purposeful. Grace invites you to “churn up any staleness, anything that’s old, anything that you don’t need” and transform it into something new. You are not just stretching your body; you’re actively working with the energy that moves through it.

Benefits of Using Flow Movements to Access Your Chakras

When energy moves freely through the body, everything works better. You think more clearly, feel more creatively alive, and access confidence and compassion more easily. This practice works the full length of the chakra line, from the hips and sacral center where creativity and vitality live, through the heart, throat, and crown, so that no area is left behind.

The rhythmic, circular movements release physical tension in the places where stagnant energy tends to settle most: the hips, lower back, chest, and shoulders.

As that tension relaxes, the emotional weight that often travels with it also softens. By the end of this session, you may notice your breath is deeper, your mind is quieter, and your body feels more like your own.
