Motherhood Body Wisdom: Release Postpartum Hip Tension & Restore Mobility

The postpartum body carries the physical and emotional changes of pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood, and the hips can hold tension as you continue to adapt to these changes. Led by Yoga Instructor Arianna Bickle, this 30-minute postnatal yoga flow combines mindful movement, breath awareness, and somatic exploration to invite greater awareness of the hips and the body as a whole. Rather than focusing on achieving specific postures, the practice encourages you to move with curiosity, respond to internal sensations, and explore movement in a way that feels supportive and intuitive for your postpartum body.

Exploring Postnatal Yoga & Hip Mobility

Postnatal yoga is an adaptable movement practice that combines yoga postures, breath awareness, mindful movement, and periods of rest to meet the changing postpartum body. Hip-opening yoga focuses on intentional movement through the hips and surrounding areas, incorporating supported postures, stretching, transitions, and somatic awareness.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How postnatal yoga adapts traditional yoga practices for the postpartum body
  • How to incorporate breath awareness into mindful movement
  • Ways to explore hip-opening movement through sensation and body awareness
  • How to use props and modifications within your practice
  • How to approach movement with curiosity, presence, and responsiveness

Supporting Postpartum Hip Mobility

Creating space for hip-focused movement after pregnancy can help you reconnect with areas of the body that may feel tight, overworked, or unfamiliar. Gentle stretching, mindful movement, and breath awareness encourage greater mobility while creating opportunities to release tension, slow down, and develop a more compassionate relationship with your postpartum body.
