In this grounded and balancing yoga practice, Amanda Kramer guides you through standing poses, balancing postures, flowing sequences, breathwork, and restorative shapes designed to help you feel rooted, centered, and connected to the present moment. Through mindful movement and focused awareness, you’ll explore the relationship between grounding and balance, using the feet, legs, spine, breath, and core as points of connection. This practice invites you to cultivate both strength and softness while creating greater inner steadiness on and off the mat.

A Grounded Yoga Practice for Balance & Inner Peace

The practice begins with standing awareness, inviting you to connect with your feet, notice the natural movement of the body, and explore how shifting your weight affects your sense of stability. Amanda then guides you through Uttanasana (forward fold), Chair Pose, Downward Facing Dog, Tree Pose (Vrksasana), Warrior I and II, Reverse Warrior, Side Angle, Pyramid Pose, and a flowing mandala vinyasa sequence. Throughout the practice, breath and body awareness remain central as you explore how rootedness creates the foundation for movement, balance, and ease.

Finding Balance Through Rooting & Awareness

A recurring theme throughout this practice is the connection between feeling grounded and being able to move with greater freedom. Amanda encourages you to pay attention to the feet as a foundation, engage the legs and core, and connect the body’s central axis with the spine and nervous system. Balancing poses such as Tree Pose, Standing Split, and Upavistha Konasana invite concentration, strength, and patience, while reminders to soften, breathe, and embrace wobbles create space to experience balance as an ongoing process rather than a perfect physical position.

Breath, Movement & Inner Harmony

Breath helps guide the practice from beginning to end, including Ujjayi breath during the asana sequence and slower breathing during the final relaxation. As you move through standing poses, forward folds, lunges, twists, and balancing postures, you’re invited to follow your breath as your own personal cue and turn your awareness inward. The practice ultimately explores Hatha yoga as a meeting of opposites—effort and ease, strength and softness, light and darkness—and how embracing these contrasting experiences can create greater balance and harmony within.
