In this intuitive movement practice, Amy Sergeant invites you to explore the difference between flow and resistance through breath, visualization, gentle movement, and embodiment. Guided by the energy and symbolism of Tethys, the goddess associated with rivers, nourishment, and flow, this practice creates space to slow down, release tension, and reconnect with your inner wisdom. Through river visualization and intuitive movement exercises, you’ll explore what may be blocking your natural flow and practice letting go of fear, control, resistance, and the pressure to force your way forward.
A Movement Practice for Releasing Stress & Burnout
The practice begins with breath awareness and a guided visualization beside a flowing river, where Tethys appears as a compassionate guide. You’re invited to physically step into the imagined water, noticing what arises as you move deeper into the river and asking what may be preventing you from experiencing greater ease and flow in your life. This visualization creates an opportunity to identify emotions, beliefs, memories, boundaries, or fears that may be contributing to a sense of resistance, while encouraging you to soften physical tension and become more present in your body.
Embrace Intuitive Movement & Flow
Rather than following a strict sequence, this practice encourages you to listen to the wisdom of your body and allow movement to arise intuitively. Through gentle swaying, shifting your weight, moving your hands, and exploring the physical sensations of flow and resistance, you’ll begin to notice how your body responds when you are forcing versus allowing. Amy encourages you to trust sensation rather than logic, using the breath and body as guides for recognizing where you may be holding tension, uncertainty, or a need for control. This somatic approach creates an opportunity to reconnect with your intuition and explore a more embodied sense of ease.
