In this gentle yoga practice, Rachel Nicks guides you through mindful movement, conscious breathing, stretching, and restorative poses designed to help release physical tension, quiet the mind, and reconnect with yourself. This 14-minute practice creates space to slow down, soften the body, and explore the balance between release and receiving. Through side bends, butterfly pose, seated forward folds, supported leg stretches, twists, and restorative poses, you’ll be invited to notice where you hold tension and practice letting go without judgment.
A Gentle Yoga Practice for Stress Relief & Release
The practice begins with seated side bends and butterfly pose to gently open the body while grounding through the sit bones and connecting with the breath. Rachel then guides you through an intention-setting practice, half straddle stretches, a wide-legged forward fold, and supported hamstring stretches using a band or towel. As the practice moves toward the floor, you’ll explore gentle twists, knee-to-chest movements, and plow pose while focusing on softening the shoulders, jaw, neck, belly, and breath. Throughout the practice, Rachel encourages you to notice how your body responds to tension and consider what you are ready to release and what you are open to receiving.
Releasing Tension Through Mindful Movement
Stress can become familiar in the body, making tension feel like something we simply have to carry. This gentle yoga practice offers an opportunity to pause and notice those sensations without judgment or expectation. Through slow stretching, conscious breathing, and restorative movement, you can explore what happens when you soften your body rather than hold onto tension. Each inhale creates space to receive, while each exhale offers an invitation to release, helping you cultivate greater body awareness, presence, and inner calm.
